Creating a plan

We assist families in obtaining guardianships over their disabled loved ones, working with their clinicians. See the guardianship and conservatorship section of the website for more details.

We also assist:

  • Families of disabled individuals who are planning for the future by preparing third-party special needs trust which will be funded after the parents’ deaths to allow the disabled individual to maintain public benefits, and for another trusted family member or a non-family or corporate trustee to manage the funds for the disabled individual for their lifetimes.
  • Individuals who have received funds from an inheritance, court settlement, or other means that will potentially disqualify them from crucial public benefits and either help them apply for a pooled trust, establish a first-party supplemental needs trust, or employ other asset protection strategies depending upon the benefit programs they currently qualify for.
